Experience – Jason Williams for Judge

I became a lawyer because

I wanted to help people and I wanted to make a difference. I am proud of the work I have done in my career. I was especially blessed by being able to help abused and neglected children through representing the Martin County Department of Social Services for the 10 years prior to my judicial appointment.

In addition, for the five years before I was appointed judge, I represented the Washington County Department of Social Services and the Tyrrell County Department of Social Services in the same capacity.

Jason Williams Experience

My extensive experience across civil, criminal and juvenile courts makes me uniquely qualified to serve as a District Court Judge. I also know what it is like to run a small business and to meet payroll, something I did for 20 years while practicing in my law office. Although I would never say that “I’ve seen it all,” there isn’t much that goes on in District Court that I haven’t had more than a little experience in.

During my time on the bench, I have earned the reputation of treating people fairly and respectfully and for knowing and following the law. I have presided over all kinds of cases throughout each of the five counties, and I look forward to serving the people of eastern North Carolina for many years to come.
