Community Involvement

A good judge needs to be an engaged member of our community.  My community engagement reflects a sincere desire to better my community:

  • Member of the Beaufort County Board of Elections from 2019-2023
  • Member of the Operations Committee for the District Two Adult Recovery Court (partner in the initial grant application and served in an advisory role since then)
  • Member of the District Two Mental Health Coalition since its inception
  • Volunteer Judge for the Beaufort County Teen Court program since 2006
  • Member of the Juvenile Attorney Access Workgroup
  • Youth soccer coach (2014-2018) and team sponsor (2015-2023) with Washington Optimist Club
  • Former Chair of the Board of Directors of Options to Domestic Violence, the local shelter serving Beaufort County
  • Former Board of Trustees member for the Washington Montessori Public Charter School
  • Sponsor, Race for Epilepsy in Washington (2017 through 2019)
  • Sponsor, Bath High School Preservation 5K in Bath for several years beginning in 2012
